ABOUT THE TUCSON GUITAR SOCIETY
MISSION
The mission of the Tucson Guitar Society is to promote the awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the guitar and similar stringed instruments to people of all cultures, ages, abilities, and economic means in Tucson and surrounding areas.
The Tucson Guitar Society, formed in 1987, is a non-profit, community-based organization. Our goal is to provide local guitar enthusiasts with opportunities for meeting other enthusiasts, improving their playing, and attending guitar performances and other events. The Guitar Society sponsors workshops, concerts and classes throughout the year.
Society members range from appreciative non-players through all levels of performers from beginning students to professional musicians. All Tucson Guitar Society members are eligible to receive discounts on activities sponsored by the society.

Performance Meetings: Guitar in the Woods
Each month at the Woods Library the Tucson Guitar Society hosts an array of guitarists performing various styles of acoustic music. The first part is an open mic format and players range from ages 6 to 60 and all skill levels are welcome. For the second half we invite a featured guest from the vast pool of extraordinarily gifted local talent. Players include area professionals, teachers, current and former university students while the styles include classical, folk, jazz, and original compositions.
Performance meetings are free and open to the public. Performers should arrive promptly and let the coordinator know that they wish to play. Drop-in performers are welcome! Please visit the calendar for the next meeting dates. View a map of the Woods Memorial Library.
